Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has agreed to join Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on loan in a deal initially for one month.
The Owls have been chasing the 18-year-old for some time and their manager Dave Jones has spotted at the club's training ground on a number of occasions in recent months.
The highly-rated teenager broke into the Toffees first team last season and has made 10 appearances in total, but his opportunities have been limited this term to just one substitute appearance against Leyton Orient in the Capital One Cup victory.
Everton boss David Moyes believes Barkley, who signed a new five-year contract in December, will benefit from a spell of regular football and he could make his debut for Wednesday at Brighton this evening.
Jones is certainly happy to have done a deal for the England Under-21 star, who he thinks is destined for a bright future in the game.
He told Wednesday's official website: "We have been chasing Ross for some time and I'm really pleased to have him on board.
"This is as big as the Rodri (Barcelona striker) signing for me because this lad is a real quality player.
"He's energetic, good in the air and a box-to-box player who can score a goal."
