Big spending ruled out
Assistant manager Steve Round admits Everton have to be prudent during January's transfer window despite making financial progress.
It's strongly believed that manager David Moyes will look to bring in at least one new face during the transfer window, but the Blues fans should not expect the boss to be splash the cash.
Although Everton have clawed themselves out of the red, showing a pre-tax profit of £260,000 compared to a £9.4million loss for the same period last year, the board are unlikely to be throwing big money at transfers.
Speaking to the Daily Post, Round stated: "The figures this week show the club is being run exceptionally well and is moving in the right direction.
"But as for money to spend, no, I don't think so."
"In the past funds have been made available, but it's having them there to make.
"We're in this situation with the credit crunch where everybody is having to tighten their belts, and we're no different."
