Tim Cahill expressed his delight after his late goal helped Everton bounce back from the Aston Villa defeat at Man City on Saturday.
The Australia international was used in attack on Saturday after Victor Anichebe was out injured and he did not disappoint with an injury-time header to seal three points and banish memories of last week's 3-2 defeat to Villa when Ashley Young scored with the last kick of the game.
Cahill, who has had his own injury problems to contend with in the past, was in a happy mood after helping the Toffees to a sixth away win of the season at Eastlands.
"This is a great day," he said. "We just wanted to get ourselves back up after that result (against Villa).
"It is all about playing for the team and playing for each other. Wherever you are asked to play, you do it because it is an honour to play for this club.
"We had to persevere and wait against City. We worked so hard and I think we deserved the victory.
"This is a results business and we needed a result so badly. It is great to pick ourselves up like this."
On his own performance and first goal in three months, he added: "I am just getting back into the flow. I am going to keep trying.
"The way I see it, if I have not got the ball, I need to work off it. For my part it is nice to be part of this team."
