Everton are lining up FC Copenhagen left-back Bryan Oviedo as they brace themselves for a Manchester United bid for Leighton Baines.
David Moyes will face competition from West Brom boss Steve Clarke and Italian outfit Atalanta for the signature of the 22-year-old Costa Rican international.
Oviedo is out of contract in December and, although he could then move on a free transfer, is keen to try a new challenge outside of Denmark, where he won the title with Copenhagen two years ago.
"It could be my last month," he said.
"I am waiting to see what happens in this transfer window, that is until August... they are not just rumours, there were many contacts [from clubs].
"There are three or four teams in England and also Italy but I cannot say names because it is not definite."
Oviedo has been followed by Manchester United who watched him play against Wales in the Gary Speed Memorial match earlier this year, but he did not have a good game.
