Everton centre half John Heitinga claims he is playing the best football of his career and is excited by the future at the club.

The 28-year-old had suffered an indifferent run of form after the World Cup in 2010 and there were rumours that he could be on his way but, after winning his place back in the side at the turn of the year, he is now one of the first names on the team sheet. It is no coincidence that his return to form, along with a resurgence amongst his teammates, has seen Everton jump up the Premier League table and the Dutch ace is now looking for the improvement to continue. He told the Post: "I think this is my best season for Everton so far and I hope I can keep the level up," he said. "It is one of my better seasons, maybe my best as a professional. "But I am only 28 and there many years to come. I am only looking forward."
