Defender linked to Gunners

Everton, 15:17, July 28, 2010 ,

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is still monitoring Everton centre-half Phil Jagielka and considering a renewed offer for the player.

Wenger is reported to have had an original offer of £10m for the former Sheffield United man turned down back in June but he has not given up hope and after losing Sol Campbell to Newcastle he may well be ready to move again.
Everton are desperate to keep hold of all their star players this summer and David Moyes would fight to the bitter end to keep Jagielka who's performances last season brought him international recognition.
Everton are also trying to keep hold of Mikel Arteta and Steven Pienaar and with that in mind captain Phil Neville has warned his team mates that the grass is not always greener elsewhere.
"We want them to stay and that's the bottom line," he told Sky Sports News. "The manager and fans obviously want them to stay.
"They've got a great environment to play in. I keep saying to them the grass isn't always greener on the other side. They've got a great platform.
"They're all highly thought of and they are all looked after and hopefully they can stay and we can build something really special.
"If we keep everybody together these boys can win silverware at this club and that's what they should remember."
