Donovan set to snub Everton
Everton may miss out on their prime target for January as Landon Donovan, who is considering going globe trotting instead.
The USA forward has enjoyed two highly successful loan spells at Goodison Park from LA Galaxy and David Moyes is keen for a repeat in the New Year, but Donovan is pondering a future away from football.
The 30-year-old has not yet ruled out a return to Everton, where by his own admission he loved his two previous spells and has a soft spot for the club, but he appears more likely to pack the game in and go travelling.
"Right now, I need time to think and that is impossible to achieve while I am playing," Donovan told EPSN.
"I need to determine if I want to play, and if the answer is yes, I need to work out where and for how long.
"I plan to spend a lot of time travelling to distant places, alone. I am not sure where.
"I want to take time to have some freedom and not worry about my next game or being fit. It may take me two weeks, two months or a year."
