Everton are the latest club to be linked with a summer swoop for Inter Milan striker Luc Castaignos.

The highly-rated Dutch youngster is set for a permanent move away from the San Siro this summer after finding his opportunities limited in Italy. Castaignos was initially expected to be allowed to leave Inter on loan but the 19-year-old has this week revealed that his future now lies away from the club. The player's former club Feyenoord were very keen to push through a temporary deal, but their technical director Martin van Geel claims that proposal has since hit the buffers. Van Geel said: "They (Inter) want to sell Luc rather than loan him. Inter even have a price in mind that is even more than we sold him for. For Feyenoord it is absolutely impossible." Everton aren't the only Premier League side who have shown an interest in the player, with West Ham also chasing his signature as they look to bolster their squad following their return to the top-flight. Castaignos only joined Inter last summer when he was touted by some experts as the new Thierry Henry. However, a number of managerial changes last season haven't helped his prospects leaving him resigned to his fate. Earlier this week, he told Sky Sport 24: "In Italy I only want to play for Inter, but this is not looking possible now. "The club wants to loan me to an Italian team, but it is a move I would not be interested in. "We have thus decided that I be sold. I regret not having been able to show my qualities. I am sad, but football is like that and the club and I have made this decision together. "I regret not being able to go abroad on loan, or play for [former club] Feyenoord next season." Meanwhile, Toffees boss David Moyes is also again being linked with a loan swoop for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku. The 19-year-old could benefit from a spell away from Stamford Bridge and is also being tracked by the Hammers and Aston Villa.
