Everton line up striker

Everton, 13:40, August 4, 2008 ,

Everton are lining up an offer for Argentine international Diego Milito as boss David Moyes looks to strengthen his squad.

The former Tottenham Hotspur target currently plays for La Liga side Real Zaragoza and would cost around £10million.
The 29-year-old Argentinean international has an impressive scoring record for Zaragoza, netting 51 times in 108 appearances.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is believed to have already held talks with Zaragoza over a possible transfer to bring the striker to Goodison Park.
Reports have suggested that Everton need to sell current striker Andy Johnson before they can move for Milito.
Fulham were expected to have completed the signing of Johnson by now but the West London side have stalled over medical complications.
Everton have handed Fulham a 48 hour deadline to sign Johnson and should the deal be completed within that time it is thought Everton will move for Milito.
