Fresh defender worry

Everton are in a battle with West Brom for the signature of FC Copenhagen left back Bryan Oviedo according to the latest reports.

A move for another left back heightens the worry that Leighton Baines may be on his way to Manchester United after Sir Alex Ferguson has been chasing him all summer as he looks to strengthen his side.
Oviedo has himself been scouted by Manchester United and is available for around £3m, Everton fans will hope the report is an old one and that Baines will not be the subject of a late bid from United, especially since they swooped for Alexander Buttner from Vitesse Arnhem this week.
David Moyes was thought to have financed his summer spending spree by selling Jack Rodwell to Manchester City and the hope is no one else will have to be sold.
