Jacobsen hails his Toffees deal
Everton, 08:44, August 26, 2008 ,
Defender Lars Jacobsen claims his free transfer move to Everton on a one-year deal is a 'fantastic opportunity'.
The 28-year-old Denmark international right-back is available for nothing after securing his release from Nuremberg at the end of last season following their relegation from the German Bundesliga. He has since trained with FC Copenhagen in his homeland, before finally agreeing a move to Goodison Park on Monday.
Jacobsen, who will make his move official following a medical, told the Daily Post: "I'm very happy and very relieved it ended up like this because this was the best solution. It was very good that we kept calm, it's been worth the wait.
"I met David Moyes and the players. Everton are a big club and it's a fantastic opportunity for me, which I couldn't say no to.
"I'm satisfied with the one-year deal and we have the possibility to look at another one.
"It was the Premier League where I wanted to be.
"Everton know what they are getting, they have seen me in a lot of matches. It's up to me now."
Boss David Moyes is now expected to add more new faces to his squad this week, after admitting he would like up to seven players before next Monday's transfer deadline.
Rennes midfielder Stephane M'bia, Sporting Lisbon playmaker Jose Moutinho and Valencia's Serbian striker Nikola Zigic are all still thought to be on his wanted list.
