Everton are being linked with a January transfer move for Portsmouth's Sean Davis as they look to strengthen their midfield.
The 29-year-old has found it hard to establish himself as a regular in Harry Redknapp's side and almost moved on in the summer when Celtic were strongly linked with the player.
It is also unlikely that David Moyes would be able to offer him an assured first team place but he may be able to tempt both player and Pompey to sell with an offer of £2.5m when the transfer window opens in the New Year.
Midfield certainly looks to be an area where Everton wish to strengthen as Davis is the third midfielder after Jimmy Bullard and Sofiane Feghouli to have been linked with the club in the past week.
