Moyes could look to France
Everton, 13:25, August 8, 2008 ,
Rennes midfielder Stephane Mbia claims Everton have made a bid to sign him and says he wants to go to Goodison Park.
The 22-year-old Cameroon international still has two years remaining on his current contract with the Ligue 1 side, but has called on his employers to allow him to test himself in the Premier League.
Mbia, who is currently on international duty at the Olympic Games, claims he has already spoken to David Moyes about the move, which could cost the Blues around £6million.
The player told L'Equipe: "At the end of last season, he (general manager Pierre Dreossi) promised me that if there was a good offer, he would accept that I could leave.
"This offer exists. It comes from Everton, who want to buy me for more than 8million euros."
Mbia added: "I want to leave Rennes. I owe everything to Rennes, my formative club. But they must understand me.
"Everton are a very established club in the Premier League, managed by David Moyes, a coach who puts trust in youngsters.
"I have spoken to him on the phone. He wanted to invite me to visit the club. I hadn't the time to do it."
