Everton boss David Moyes feels the capture of ex-Rangers striker Steven Naismith could help the club reach the next level.

The Toffees enjoyed another excellent campaign last season and finished seventh in the top-flight table - four points clear of their Merseyside rivals Liverpool. It was another solid display from Moyes's charges despite a slow start to the season and they are looking to hit the ground running this season to see where it takes them. Naismith has penned a four-year deal at Goodison Park after opting not to join the Glasgow newco club and will join a side brimming with confidence after last season's heroics. Moyes continues to operate on a limited budget and has been roundly praised for his recruitment policy with little cash to work with, and the Scot feels that he may have played another blinder in bringing in the 25-year-old Scotland international. "We are delighted that Steven has agreed to join us," he said. "He will be an excellent addition to the players we already have and we look forward to him being fit and ready to play at the start of the season. "He is an established international who can play in a number of positions. He has a flexibility we always like in our players and which will hopefully prove to be very useful for us." Punters looking to use a free bet might fancy Everton to get off to a decent start and finish in the top four this season. They kick off their campaign with a home clash against Manchester United and a game against the Red Devils is always a good measure of how successful a challenging side might be.
