Moyes looks at Juve ace

Everton are thought to be considering making a move for former Tottenham defender Reto Ziegler who looks set to leave Juventus.

The 26-year-old joined Juve last summer from Sampdoria but did not take part in their title celebrations as he was immediately loaned out to Fenerbache in Turkey where he appeared 38 times. He has gone back to Turin but is unlikely to feature this coming season so a move looks to be on the cards, boss David Moyes would like to snap him up and is willing to offer around £2m for his services. With Manchester United closing in on a move for Leighton Baines, Moyes has a pressing need for defensive cover and the Swiss international would fit the bill. Everton are not alone in looking at the defender with Stuttgart and Lazio also said to be keen and that interest could push up the price.
