Pienaar blow for Everton

Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar has been forced to withdraw from South Africa's squad after picking up an injury.

The 30-year-old, signed in the summer from Spurs, sustained a thigh strain in Saturday's first defeat of the season at West Brom and will now miss the international friendlies this week.
He was due to fly out to join his national squad for matches against Brazil in Sao Paulo on Friday and then Mozambique in Nelspruit a week on Tuesday.
Everton have confirmed the injury has prevented Pienaar from travelling but claim his absence is just a precautionary measure and he should be okay for their next match, as he has two weeks to recover before the visit of Newcastle on September 17.
