Race on for midfielder

Everton boss David Moyes will give Marouane Fellaini until the last possible moment to prove his fitness ahead of the Merseyside derby.

Everton take on arch rivals Liverpool on Sunday lunchtime and the Belgium midfielder is crucial to Moyes' plans, especially with the absence of Steven Pienaar. The South African international was harshly sent off last weekend in the draw with QPR so Fellaini's return would be a big plus for the boss, but he will not want to take any chances if Fellaini has not recovered fully from his knee problem. The Scot also has doubts over midfielder Darron Gibson's fitness and he too faces a late test, as does Tony Hibbert, who has hopefully shaken off a calf injury, before Moyes names his line up.
