R's join Pienaar race

QPR are ready to step in and steal Tottenham midfielder Steven Pienaar from under the nose of Everton boss David Moyes.

Everton have been in discussions with Spurs over taking the South African back to Goodison Park on a permanent deal. Pienaar spent an unhappy spell at White Hart Lane following a switch from Everton, before rejoining Moyes' side back in January on loan. His return to the North West seemed a forgone conclusion but the two sides have not managed to agree a fee and QPR, as well as Sunderland, who were both said to be keen on a move in January, have been alerted to the fact the midfielder could be available.
