Everton skipper Phil Neville remains confident the club have the squad to turn around their season after a disappointing start.
Two wins from their opening seven games in the Premiership, and Uefa Cup and Carling Cup exits, are not exactly the way the club would have wanted things to go.
But ahead of the trip to Arsenal, Neville believes they can turn it around and has warned both Aston Villa and Manchester City that spending big money is no guarantee of success.
He told the Post: "I don't think what's happened at Manchester City and Aston Villa recently has made it more difficult in the short term.
"Success doesn't just happen overnight. Sure, the two teams have brought great players but it takes time for a team to settle and be moulded.
"We're finding that out for ourselves at the moment, but the nucleus has been here now for three or four years and hopefully that longevity of the squad will see us through.
"I still feel we have a better squad than last year with better players."
