Striker closes on move

Everton, 13:30, August 5, 2008 ,

Fulham are set to complete the signing of Everton striker Andy Johnson in the next 24 hours after finally agreeing a deal.

The big-money move should have gone through last week but the Cottagers were concerned after signs of an old injury were revealed in the player's medical.
Fulham were keen to renegotiate the initial payment to Everton and following talks with Goodison Park chairman Bill Kenwright on Monday evening, it looks like a deal has now been hammered out.
The fee for Johnson will still rise to £13million depending on appearances and Fulham hope to unveil the former England international in the next 24 hours.
