Toffees ace's plea to players
Everton, 08:56, September 15, 2009 ,
Joseph Yobo has urged his Everton team-mates to find what is missing from their game and start climbing the Premier League table.
The Nigerian international is frustrated at the Toffees' poor start to the campaign in which they have managed just one win from four games and are sat in second-bottom spot in the table. And Yobo feels there is something absent from their play which is needed if they are going to be challenging for a top-six spot.
An example of that was on Sunday when the Merseysiders threw away a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 at Fulham, and Yobo says the situation needs rectifying quickly.
"We should have done better," he said.
"We should definitely have taken advantage when we had the lead. I don't know - maybe we are missing something at the minute.
"It doesn't matter who plays or who is on the bench. We badly let ourselves down in the second half. We know that should have done better.
"They put us under a lot of pressure but we should have been more ruthless but the games are coming thick and fast and we have to put this behind us."
He added: "We have got some important games coming up and we have got to get a win.
"But we need to win our next league game and get climbing the table.
"We have had some bad starts before but we have always ended up picking ourselves up. That's what we have got to do again. We can't keep losing games and dropping points."
