Toffees starlets to face Albion
Everton, 12:06, August 22, 2008 ,
Everton's injury problems mean teenage duo Jack Rodwell and Jose Baxter could again line up for the club at West Brom on Saturday.
The youngsters were both involved in last Saturday's opening-day 3-2 defeat against Blackburn at Goodison Park and are set to get the nod once again as boss David Moyes has not been able to bolster his squad, while several regular first-teamers remain sidelined.
Steven Pienaar, Tim Cahill and Andy van der Meyde are all still injured, while Victor Anichebe is going in search of an Olympic gold medal in China in the football final against favourites Argentina.
Whoever starts the game against the Premier League new boys at the Hawthorns, Leon Osman has urged his team-mates to forget the struggle to bring in new players and focus on getting points on the board.
He said: "We cannot let it affect us. We have got a job to do on the pitch no matter who is brought in, or who is not brought in. We have to go about our jobs correctly during the week and get the result on the Saturday.
"It has been hanging over the club but we try and distance ourselves from it. If you are looking at the development of the club and thinking of winning things you have got to bring in new players and improve year on year for it to work."
