Everton are still hopeful of landing Steven Naismith but they face a battle with West Brom who are also after his signature.
The 25-year-old forward is looking for a new club after deciding he does not want to be part of Rangers newco and David Moyes is the favourite to land him as he is thought to be keen to team up with his former teammate Nikica Jelavic. New West Brom boss Steve Clarke has not given up hope of landing Naismith who is also wanted by Stoke City and West Ham but Everton lead the way. He was said to have been at the club last weekend to undergo an initial fitness test but Everton will be keen to give him a more strenuous workout and a more detailed test before he is offered any sort of deal at the club.
