Everton's 24-year-old keeper Iain Turner has told David Moyes he wants to leave the club and go out on loan.
Turner has started the season on the bench behind Tim Howard but with the arrival of Carlo Nash this week from Wigan, Turner would rather go and get some football elsewhere than fall even further down the pecking order.
The Scotland Under-21 international needs regular first-team football after missing almost all of last season with a serious hip injury and he will not get that at Everton.
Meanwhile David Moyes is pleased to have landed Nash from Wigan, he told the Post: "It's never easy when you are looking to sign a second goalkeeper and we needed someone who was going to come in and push Tim Howard.
"We had Stefan Wessels before Carlo and he did a great job for us last season.
"We have also got Iain Turner and John Ruddy but ideally we would like to get them out on loan."
Moyes added: "But for that to happen, we need to have someone behind Tim who has experience and won't be bothered by playing in big games, if he is needed.
"Carlo has got that and I'm sure that he will be a big asset over the next two seasons."
