USA ace arrives at Goodison

Everton, 10:55, July 10, 2009

Everton boss David Moyes has signed American midfielder Anton Peterlin from MLS side Ventura County Fusion.

The 22-year-old has Danish and Slovenian parents and holds dual American and Danish nationality, which eliminates the need to secure a work permit for the American who is yet to represent his country.

"It's great to be here," Peterlin told evertonTV. "I had a trial in early March and found out that Everton wanted me in April time. I was really taken aback when I heard.

"I've been blown away by everything at the Club because compared to the States it's a lot different.

"My hope is to make my way and show the manager I can do well. If I can get on the bench and get off the bench this season that would be fantastic."

If Everton can secure international clearance for the midfielder in time he may feature for the Blues this evening in their friendly with Bury.

Everton have also been linked with Manchester City striker Jo and Leeds United youngster Fabian Delph, as soon as David Moyes makes a move in the transfer market we will let you know with out new major news and scores SMS service.
