Winger happy to be involved
Everton, 09:51, February 13, 2009 ,
Everton winger Andy Van Der Meyde is back enjoying his football again and looking forward to playing against Aston Villa in the FA Cup.
The former Holland international is unlikely to be able to do enough to earn a new deal at Goodison when his current contract runs out in the summer but he is back playing competitive football.
It has not been a bed of roses following his £2million move from Internazionale in 2005 - he has made just 24 starts for the club in that period - but now he is back in the first-team picture and he is delighted.
He told Everton TV: "It's been good. I've really enjoyed playing. It's been a long time since I've had a run of games so I liked it.
"I feel happy and feel like a kid because I missed football so long.
"I was not involved sometimes and sometimes I was injured but now I'm getting more time to get on the pitch and that's the best feeling you can get as a player."
