Hughes eyes Falkirk star
Falkirk, 14:29, June 12, 2009 ,
New Hibernian boss John Hughes says he wouldn't hesitate to raid his old club Falkirk to take goalkeeper Dani Mallo to Easter Road.
Hibs currently have only one goalkeeper on their books in the form of Yves Ma-Kalambay and Hughes has made finding some cover for their shot-stopper his top priority.
Mallo could be the man Hughes is looking for to come to Easter Road, with the keeper's future currently uncertain after he failed to agree a new deal with the Bairns.
The Spaniard's contract is set to expire this year and Hughes says he is ready to make a move for Mallo again after originally taking him to Falkirk.
"We've only got Ma-Kalambay so I need to address that," Hughes told the Daily Record.
"There are several options and Dani Mallo is one I would have no hesitation in bringing to the club.
"But I'm not going to dive in. I'm looking about to see what else there is and I'll try and bring in a guy I think I can challenge the big fella for the jersey."
