Veteran ace wants Bairns job

Falkirk, 10:27, June 15, 2009 ,

Steven Pressley has confirmed his interest in taking over the Falkirk managerial hot seat from the outgoing John Hughes.

The current Scotland assistant coach has been mooted as one of the favourites to take the job, along with Falkirk youth development leader Eddie May, after Hughes jumped ship to take over at Hibernian.
Following a five-month playing spell with the Bairns last season, Pressley has admitted he would now like to make the step up into management.
"It's a fantastic club, a fantastic infrastructure," Pressley said. "I am very interested in the job. But I have to show Falkirk the respect. They have been going about their appointment in the right manner.
"I am heading for Sweden and return next weekend, so if an appointment is made before then, you know it will not be me."
