Button sews up Monaco win

Formula 1, 15:55, May 24, 2009 ,

Jenson Button led a Brawn one-two and extended his world championship lead to 16 points with a flawless drive around Monaco.

Button sealed his fifth victory of the season by effectively managing the deteriorating tyres on his car far better than his Brawn team-mate Rubens Barrichello.
The Brazilian held off the Ferraris of Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa, who finished third and fourth.
Red Bull's Mark Webber was fifth but reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton had another day to forget - finishing back in 12th place.
The McLaren driver crashed in qualifying and had to start at the back of the grid as a penalty for changing his gearbox.
Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel also had a bad day, dropping further behind Button in the drivers' standings after crashing out of the race.
