Massa ready for green light

Formula 1, 09:18, February 2, 2010 ,

Ferrari driver Felipe Massa says he has no lingering fears about his health ahead of his return to Formula One.

The Brazilian capped his return on the time-sheets in Valencia on Monday by coming out on top against fellow comeback drivers Pedro de la Rosa and Michael Schumacher.
It was a remarkable feat given that just six months ago the Ferrari driver required life-saving surgery after his smash in qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The 28-year-old, who now sports a four-inch scar above his left eye and metal plate in his skull, said he was ready for the green light.
"I'm happy to be back after such a long time watching the races on television, and sometimes at the track,'' smiled Massa.
"I feel very good from a physical point of view. I did 100 laps, but I could have done much more.
"After the difficult time I had it's always nice to get back on the track and be competitive. For me, the day was normal.''
