Schuey return a success
Formula 1, 11:21, January 13, 2010 ,
F1 comeback king Michael Schumacher declared himself "comfortable" with his return to the track when testing a GP2 car in Spain.
The seven-time champion, who is set to return to Formula One with Mercedes after three years out for the 2010 season later this year, completed 52 laps at the Jerez circuit as part of a three-day development test for the 2011/2013 car for GP2 - F1's feeder series.
And afterwards the German legend said the experience was a good one.
"All my senses were on full alert - this alone was worth it," he said. "I felt comfortable out on track from the very beginning.
"The day was especially good because, after a long time, I could drive again in a car that comes close to a current Formula 1 car.
"I'd like to thank our team and the GP2 Series very much for the opportunity to drive."
The 41-year-old is first expected to climb back into an F1 car in February, when winter testing begins for the new season.
