Martin Jol has confirmed that Dimitar Berbatov will miss Fulham's visit of Manchester City on Saturday because of injury.

The Bulgarian hitman has been in impressive form for the Londoners since joining from Manchester United in the summer transfer window and his absence against City this weekend will be a massive blow for Jol, who could hand Mladen Petric a start. The Cottagers boss should have defender Philippe Senderos back in contention soon after the Swiss international played for 45 minutes of the development squad's 1-0 win against Manchester City in a Group Three clash at Motspur Park on Monday. However, Jol is unlikely to pitch him back in against City's senior side at Craven Cottage this weekend. With no other problems to contend with Jol will be tempted to field the same side which won at Wigan last Saturday, although Giorgos Karagounis could come into contention after the recent free transfer arrival played for over an hour in Monday's development squad match. Striker Hugo Rodallega is well aware of the quality the Premier League champions possess but he is confident they can maintain their perfect home record against them. "We all know the players that they have and how good they can be," he told Fulham's official website. "But there's no reason why we can't get the result that we want."
