Boss to Delph deep for Leeds ace

Fulham, 10:51, December 31, 2008 ,

Fulham and Newcastle are leading the race to sign £5m-rated Leeds midfielder Fabian Delph but Sunderland and Arsenal aren't far behind.

The 18-year-old was watched by Fulham scouts as he scored a stunning goal in Leeds' 3-1 win at Stockport County on Sunday.
Reports claim Roy Hodgson sees the former Bradford City schoolboy as a potential long-term replacement for Jimmy Bullard.
Newcastle United have reportedly already had a bid rejected with ex-Leeds manager Dennis Wise well aware of his ability, but Sunderland and Arsenal are still keen to sign him.
Leeds value Delph at £5million and new boss Simon Grayson is confident the teenager will be staying at Elland Road.
He said: "Fabian has a big reputation and he has worked ever so hard for me in the last two games.
"I have been assured he will not be sold, and that is where we are at."
