Cottagers close to Hughes appointment
Fulham, 09:25, July 29, 2010 ,
Fulham are expected to name former Manchester City and Blackburn boss Mark Hughes as their new manager later today.
Hughes was axed as City manager in December after just 18 months in the Eastlands hot-seat and has been out of work since, but widespread reports claim the Cottagers are set to unveil the Welshman as their new boss later today.
Fulham were chasing Ajax boss Martin Jol but the Dutch giants refused to allow Jol to leave the Amsterdam Arena and the London club have now turned to Hughes.
The club will make an announcement after legal negotiations are completed.
