Cottagers' Spain raid latest

Fulham, 13:00, February 16, 2009 ,

Fulham have been handed encouragement over their interest on Almeria striker Alvaro Negredo if they firm up their £7m interest.

Negredo, who started his career with Real Madrid but did not make an appearance for them, claims a host of English outfits, which includes the Cottagers, are monitoring his progress.
"They (Fulham) and other English clubs are watching my games but that doesn't make me nervous," Negredo told the News of the World.
"To play in the Premier League is not easy but, today, there are many Spaniards over there and this is opening the door for others.
"If a big offer comes I don't believe that it would be a problem to close the deal. That is something the president told me."
