Giorgios Karagounis played an hour as Fulham's Under-21s beat Manchester City in a Group Three clash at Motspur Park on Monday.
Pajtim Kasami's second-half goal secured a first win of the season for the side on a blustery Monday afternoon. Philippe Senderos played a half while David Stockdale, Zdenek Grygera and Marco Trotta also featured in the starting line-up. The Whites took the lead just before the hour mark when Grygera volleyed across goal after being picked out by Karagounis' cute free-kick, leaving Kasami with the simple task of knocking into an empty net. Karagounis was replaced on 63 minutes by Tom Donegan and the 120-cap Greece international showed plenty of deft touches and slick passes in his first Fulham outing. Fulham: Stockdale; Grimmer, Grygera, Senderos (Burn, 45 mins), Kavanagh, Kasami, Pritchard (Vigen Christensen, 84 mins), Karagounis ( Donegan, 63 mins), Smith (C), Banya.
