Hodgson hails improved Cottagers

Fulham, 15:23, February 25, 2009 ,

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has praised his players after they defeated Championship outfit Swansea on Tuesday night.

The Fulham team had come in for criticism after being outplayed in the original fixture between the two sides and Hodgson was delighted by the way they went about their task in the replay at Craven Cottage.
Speaking to Setanta Sports News Hodgson said: "From the very first minute it was a very different game to the first one in Swansea.
"We set about our task with great enthusiasm with the pressure, energy and pace we put into the game and I thought at half-time we had created enough chances to maybe feel we would win the game.
"So to go 1-0 down totally against the run of play, against a team that are never easy to beat, I thought it was going to be one of those nights.
"Luckily we kept at it and we kept creating those chances and we kept pouring forward and it gave us the two goals that we needed.
"It could have given us a lot more because we really battered their back four and goalkeeper in this game."
