Inter eye £7m Fulham target

Inter Milan are ready to start the bidding for Fulham target Stijn Schaars with a £7million offer for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder.

Schaars has impressed scouts from Inter over the last few weeks with the Serie A giants now ready to make their move for the 28-year-old Dutchman.
Fulham and Sunderland have also had the ex-AZ Alkmaar star watched in recent weeks and both clubs would have been impressed by Schaars' display against Athletic Bilbao in last week's Europa League semi-final first leg.
The left-footed midfielder is vying for a starting berth at Euro 2012 with Holland and could potentially see his asking price rocket after that tournament, unless there is a release clause in his contract.
Fulham boss Martin Jol is looking for a long-term replacement for Danny Murphy and may feel that there is better value in the market elsewhere if Inter are prepared to push the price up.
