Jol asks fans to leave Bobby alone
Fulham, 22:10, February 23, 2012
Fulham manager Martin Jol has urged fans not to throw abuse at Bobby Zamora on Saturday when his side travel to Loftus Road.
It will be the first time that Zamora lines up against his former club after making the switch to the Rs in the January transfer window.
The last time these two sides met, the Whites ran out 6-0 winners against their west London rivals. However, since then Mark Hughes has taken over the side from Loftus Road, following the sacking of Neil Warnock earlier in the year.
Jol did pay tribute to the contribution Zamora made on the club during his spell and does expect him to be successful at QPR.
He told the Fulham Chronicle: "I mean Bobby deserves praise because he played for us and was a very good servant for the club.
"Hopefully the QPR fans will think the same of him in a few years. I always want to focus our fans on our team.
"We have a lot of supporters going there, we focus on that and we will focus on our away form because that is not great. Hopefully we can change that."
