Norwegians play down stopper exit talk
Fulham, 11:31, February 4, 2009 ,
Norwegian side Tromso say they are holding talks with defender Tore Reginiussen amid reports claiming he could join Fulham this summer.
The 22-year-old, who will be out of contract with the Norwegian outfit at the end of next season, was linked with a move to Craven Cottage throughout the recent transfer window. However nothing materialised probably due to Fulham successfully keeping Brede Hangeland on board, but there are claims in Norway the two clubs are discussing a possible summer deal.
Tromso have now hit back to say they are negotiating a new package with Reginiussen to ensure he stays put with them as opposed to starting talks with any interested parties later this year.
"We've had this under control and all the time reasoned that Tore is a Tromso player," director Tom Bendiksen told the Norwegian press.
He added: "We need to talk to Tore and discuss what strategy we should have for his further career.
"It will be up to him to decide to sign a new contract and that's why it is important to sit down with him."
