Posh push for permanent deal

Peterborough have agreed a deal to sign Gabby Zakuani in January if the on-loan Fulham defender wants to make the move permanent.

Zakuani has been a virtual ever-present for Posh since arriving at London Road in September.

Peterborough director of football Barry Fry says the deal will not exceed the League One club's record transfer fee that they paid for Joe Lewis last January.

"I've done a deal with Fulham - [Peterborough boss] Darren [Ferguson] has just got to convince the player to come here.

"Nothing will happen until January, but obviously we want to know where we are with the deal."
