New Gills deal for Essam

Gillingham defender Connor Essam has signed a new three-year contract.

The 19-year-old centre-half has committed himself to the Priestfield Stadium until the summer of 2015. Essam, who has been with the club since he was eight, only made his first-team debut in February after loan spells with Dover, Bishops Stortford and Dartford. But he went on to establish himself in the side and made 18 appearances over the last few months of the season.
