Harrington believes Woods still favourite
Golf, 16:55, July 6, 2010 ,
Padraig Harrington has warned his fellow competitors not to underestimate Tiger Woods at next week's Open at St Andrews.
The world number one has struggled since returning to competitive golf in April after his well-documented personal troubles and slumped to an uninspiring 79 at the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am on Monday.
But despite his inconsistent from, Harrington believes Woods is still as big a threat as ever, especially as he has won the the last two Opens held at the Old Course.
"There is no doubt that if Tiger hits form he's comfortably the favourite to win any of the majors and St Andrews sets up very well for him," said Harrington, himself a two-time Open champion.
"He's very capable of winning without hitting his very best form. Is he about to hit that? I wouldn't write him off, that's for sure."
