Jimenez becomes fourth Europe assistant
Jose Maria Olazabal has named Miguel Angel Jimenez as his fourth assistant captain for next month's Ryder Cup.
Jimenez joins Thomas Bjorn, Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley as Olazabal's assistant and the European captain says he is delighted with the line-up. "I now have four world-class golfers as my vice-captains," he said. "All have tremendous experience of playing in the Ryder Cup, which is absolutely invaluable." On Jimenez, Olazabal added: "You know he has a very simple and great philosophy - he always sees the positive side and makes people feel better. "He shares with Thomas, Darren and Paul that passion, commitment and desire to win and like them I know he will encourage everyone in the team room." United States captain Davis Love has also named four assistant captains in Fred Couples, Mike Hulbert, Jeff Sluman and Scott Verplank ahead of the competition at Medinah Country Club, Illinois, which begins on September 25.
