Kim looking for automatic selection
Golf, 15:27, July 22, 2010 ,
Anthony Kim says he is looking to qualify automatically for October's Ryder Cup and save captain Cory Pavin a wildcard.
Kim, who has missed the last two months due to thumb surgery, is hoping to make his comeback at the USPGA Championship at Whistling Straits in August.
The final major of the year is also the final qualifying event for the American team and Kim, who currently sits fourth in the standings, says he will be doing all he can to finish in one of the eight automatic qualifying spots.
"I don't want to say I'm going to come back on a day and not show up so we're just trying to work as hard as we can (but) I definitely want to make that Ryder Cup team.
"It's a very special event to me and hopefully I can get back and get some more points so I won't need to have any favours called in from Corey (Pavin)."
