Four-time major winner Phil Mickelson has secured a record ninth USA Ryder Cup team appearance to take on Europe.
The 42-year-old held on to the eighth and final qualifying position and will be joined by three newcomers - Keegan Bradley, Jason Dufner and the US Open champion, Webb Simpson.
'Lefty' had looked in danger of missing out in Chicago next month when he carded a closing 74 at the USPGA Championship, won by Rory McIlroy, to drop out of the top 30.
Bo van Pelt was his biggest threat at Kiawah Island but he bogeyed the 14th and 15th and ultimately dropped out of the automatic qualification places.
Steve Stricker, Jim Furyk and Hunter Mahan are expected to make up three of the four wild-card places chosen by captain Davis Love III on September 4.
