Colin Montgomerie and Jose Maria Olazabal have failed in their latest bids to qualify for The Open but Sam Walker has made it through.

Montgomerie needed to hole a bunker shot on the 18th but the Scot could not manage it and he ended up with a level-par round of 70 on the Old Course at Sunningdale, to add to his morning three-under round of 66 on the adjoining New Course, as he fell one shot short of forcing a play-off.
Montgomerie could still make it to Lytham if the 49-year-old lands a top-five finish at the upcoming French or Scottish Opens.
Olazabal, meanwhile, carded rounds of 67 and 71 to also miss out on qualifying for the Major at this stage.
But there was better news for Walker, who made it through at the 11th time of asking, finishing second to compatriot James Morrison as the 96-strong field battled for 10 places at The Open.
