Nick Faldo recieves knighthood in Queens Honours.

Nick Faldo has recieved a knighthood in the Queens Birthday Honours list for services to golf.
The 51 year-old is the most successful British golfer on the European tour with 30 wins, including six majors.
He has also made 11 Ryder Cup appearances winning a record 23 points and helping Europe to victory five times. He captained the side in 2008 though the USA came out on top on that occasion.
Faldo is only the second British golfer to recieved a knighthood after fellow former Ryder cup captain sir Henry Cotton visited the Palace in 1988. It follows on from the MBE Faldo was awarded in 1998.
Speaking after hearing news of his award Faldo said: "I should like it if I may to accept this honour as a representative of a sport that has given me so much in my life.
"I would also like to thank all of the people that have helped make that possible - not least of all my parents, whose unstinting love and support is a real blessing."
Other sports stars receiving awards include Ex-rugby player Alastair Hignell, who becomes a CBE while cricket's Graeme Hick and Charlotte Edwards, and badminton star Gail Emms all receive MBEs.
