Further TV talks planned

Hamilton Academical, 14:09, June 4, 2009 ,

The SPL board will hold another meeting on Friday to discuss concerns over Setanta's failure to pay £3m as part of its TV deal.

Setanta agreed to pay an improved £125m last year over four seasons for exclusive live coverage from 2010, but has been attempting to renegotiate a number of its contracts because of alleged cash-flow problems.
On Monday, the Irish TV group failed to make its final £3m payment for the current season and the SPL board held a conference on Wednesday to discuss the problems.
Reports claim that club chairmen will have to decide soon whether to stick with Setanta, who has a four-year contract with the SPL, or seek a new broadcast partner.
