McClenahan rewarded for commitment

Hamilton Academical, 13:48, May 29, 2009 ,

Hamilton boss Billy Reid has confirmed that Australian defender Trent McClenahan has been offered a new contract at the club.

The 24-year-old has now undergone surgery back in his homeland on a double hernia that he has been putting off since Christmas, so that he could help the Accies survive in the top-flight.
A new deal is now on the table and Reid says that the player is fully deserving after showing his commitment to the club.
"Trent has been offered a new contract and we're waiting to hear if he's accepting it," Reid said.
"He merits a new deal because he was great for us. He showed a real commitment by playing on with an injury and made a significant contribution to helping us stay up."
